Understandably, the music from that era helped to form who I am today. During the 70s, the music on my radio and the books I read were my two best friends. So, it makes sense that when I was driving along this morning, having a hard time trying to make sense of this unsettled feeling inside of me over what is happening down in Bunkerville, that a song that hit the charts in 1972 came to mind. I am speaking about Don McLean's "American Pie."
For me, "American Pie" was about the death of our innocent trust. The 50s, and even to a certain extent, the 60s were a time of utopian calm. I believe the skies must have always been blue during those years, and Kodachrome made them seem even bluer. Starting in the late 60s, many of us stood in shock at the events unfolding around us. We had no words. This is why McLean's song hit the top of the charts -- he found those words for us.
Many of the older kids checked out with drugs. They grew their hair and stopped wearing shoes. There were lines at the gas station. The fridge hosted fewer groceries and there were fewer presents under the Christmas tree. Mom started sewing patches on our pants when the knees wore through. Loudspeakers were installed throughout our town and we learned how to get under our desks at school when they tested the sirens. We lived within the three-mile radius of Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant. When the war ended, there was no parade...but there were more transients in the park near Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa...some of them missing limbs.
Those unsettled feelings for which we had no words are starting to surface again. When BLM released Cliven Bundy's cattle this past Saturday, April 12, 2014, I did not feel the urge to hoot nor holler. Instead, I felt as if we had all just missed a bullet. There were some 500 militia and protestors facing off some 20 BLM officers in a sandy wash near the I-15 overpass. I held my breath, praying that not a single finger would slip on triggers moistened with sweat under the constant blaze of the sun. Even when the media packed up their cameras to go back home, I sensed that we still need to stay vigilant.
I was not the only one feeling this way. I just watched a video by Col. Potter, ret. He and his friend experienced the same uneasiness after things were "over." They believe those BLM agents were set up for slaughter by the local sheriff. While, this is only a hunch at this point, it does speak to the disillusionment felt by those who have been duped. They believe they were gullible and it was only by the prodding of the Holy Spirit that they were able to take a closer look at what may be going on.
Truckers reported seeing a convoy of 50 blacked-out vehicles heading north to the vicinity of Cliven Bundy's ranch. I'm sure alternative media sources will have more reports as the day progresses. Keep your ears tuned. Keep your eyes open. Realizing that you have been duped is such an awful feeling. And, pride is what propels us to strut about rather than humbly watching and listening. If we allow ourselves to become braggarts, the fall will follow.
Pay particular attention to the things that don't appear to be directly related to the events surrounding the protest. For example, there was a large formation of geese that flew over Bundy's ranch and the group of protestors Saturday morning. I was watching the live U-stream with David Knight. He took notice of the birds. They drew his attention, and his camera, away from the protest for a few moments. This was significant. Many believe this was a sign from God. How you interpret that sign is up to you. My admonition is to make sure you notice such things.
At some point in the past, I heard a fellow named Nathan Leal recounting a dream he had on the Hagmann & Hagmann Report. If I remember correctly, Mr. Leal dreamed that a large number of patriots were killed by snipers on a highway in the Southwest. If anyone knows how to find that broadcast, please respond in the comment section below. I'd like to listen to it again.
The first of the Blood Moons will be upon us tomorrow. Many believe that God will be using those as a sign. I'm not sure what they will signify, but I will be watching current events to see if anything rings true to me. I don't believe the Blood Moons will necessarily have anything to do with the conflict in Bunkerville, Nevada. But, I do know that Satan creates imposters that mirror the workings of the Lord. Evil people may choose to use counterfeit signs associated with the Blood Moon to delude the public.
The time from April 19 to May 1 is important because occultists historically have offered a blood sacrifice to the beast during this period. The date of April 19 is especially significant because a fire sacrifice is required on that day. The line from the song that has been sticking with me all day is the title of this post. I pray that God halts any evil intent of the destroyer against American citizens down in Bunkerville. I believe that the large V-formation of geese was a sign that He would restrain the emotions of the protestors, thereby allowing the protest to remain nonviolent. This is, and will continue to be, the intent of the patriots involved. I pray for the safety of all of them.
